A provocative science fiction drama, District 9 boasts an original story that gets a little lost in blow-'em-up mayhem. Set in Johannesburg, South Africa, District 9 begins as a mock documentary about the imminent eviction of extraterrestrials from a pathetic shantytown (called District 9). The creatures, it turns out, have been on Earth for years, having arrived sickly and starving. Initially received by humans with compassion and care, the aliens are now mired in blighted conditions typical of long-term refugee camps unwanted by a hostile, host society. With the creatures' care contracted out to a for-profit corporation, the shantytown has become a violent slum. The aliens sift through massive piles of junk while their minders secretly research weapons technology that arrived on the visitors' spacecraft.

Against this backdrop is a more personal story about a bureaucrat named Wikus (Sharlto Copley) who is accidentally exposed to a DNA-altering substance. As he begins metamorphosing into one of the creatures, Wikus goes on the run from scientists who want to harvest his evolving, new parts and aliens who see him as a threat. When he pairs up with an extraterrestrial secretly planning an escape from Earth, however, what should be a fascinating relationship story becomes a series of firefights and explosions. Nuance is lost to numbing violence, and the more interesting potential of the film is obscured. Yet, for a while District 9 is a powerful movie with a unique tale to tell. Seamless special effects alone are worth seeing: the (often brutal) exchanges between alien and human are breathtaking.

Actors: Norman Anstey, Anthony Bishop, Anthony Fridjhon, William Allen Young, Mike Huff
Directors: Neill Blomkamp

Judi and Ron Barrett's Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs is a much-loved, whimsical book about a tiny island where food falls from the sky like rain. The book serves as a jumping-off point for Sony's animated, digital 3-D Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs which is not so much a retelling of the book as an exploration of what makes food rain from the sky on a small island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.

Flint (Bill Hader), a clever young inventor with a reputation for creations gone awry, has recently completed a machine that he claims will turn water into food. Like his past failed inventions, Flint's new food-converting machine doesn't work as planned, and on its initial test run it ends up getting launched into the sky where clouds form and begin to rain cheeseburgers. The falling burgers destroy the Swallow Falls community's latest attempt to bolster its failing, sardine-dependent economy, but the Mayor's (Bruce Campbell) initial fury quickly turns to greedy anticipation as he begins to realize that food falling from the sky could serve as an innovative tourist draw.

As the entire town is caught up re-defining itself as "Chew and Swallow," only Flint's father (James Caan) remains skeptical of his son's invention. Greed leads to some very strange weather events like spaghetti twisters and extra-giant food which, while providing a huge career opportunity for brainy weather intern Sam Sparks (Anna Faris) who's masquerading as an air-headed television personality, also threaten to destroy the town and its inhabitants. In the end, only the collaborative efforts of Flint, his father, and Sam can save the town of Chew and Swallow from certain destruction by the out of control invention. Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs is a funny, imaginative film that's well-animated and immensely entertaining for kids and adults. Rated PG for brief mild language, but appropriate for most ages 5 and older.

Great love stories thrive on sacrifice. Throughout The Twilight Saga (Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse), Stephenie Meyer has emulated great love stories--Romeo and Juliet, Wuthering Heights--with the fated, yet perpetually doomed love of Bella (the human girl) and Edward (the vampire who feeds on animals instead of humans). In Breaking Dawn, the fourth and final installment in the series, Bella’s story plays out in some unexpected ways. The ongoing conflicts that made this series so compelling--a human girl in love with a vampire, a werewolf in love with a human girl, the generations-long feud between werewolves and vampires--resolve pretty quickly, apparently so that Meyer could focus on Bella’s latest opportunity for self-sacrifice: giving her life for someone she loves even more than Edward. How close she comes to actually making that sacrifice is questionable, which is a big shift from the earlier books. Even though you knew Bella would make it through somehow, the threats to her life, and to her relationship with Edward, had previously always felt real. It’s as if Meyer was afraid of hurting her characters too much, which is unfortunate, because the pain Bella suffered at losing Edward in New Moon, and the pain Jacob suffered at losing Bella again and again, are the fire and the heart that drive the whole series. Diehard fans will stick with Bella, Edward, and Jacob for as many twists and turns as possible, but after most of the characters get what they want with little sacrifice, some readers may have a harder time caring what happens next.

Legions of readers entranced by Twilight are hungry for more and they won't be disappointed. In New Moon, Stephenie Meyer delivers another irresistible combination of romance and suspense with a supernatural twist. The "star-crossed" lovers theme continues as Bella and Edward find themselves facing new obstacles, including a devastating separation, the mysterious appearance of dangerous wolves roaming the forest in Forks, a terrifying threat of revenge from a female vampire and a deliciously sinister encounter with Italy's reigning royal family of vampires, the Volturi.

Passionate, riveting, and full of surprising twists and turns, this vampire love saga is well on its way to literary immortality.

All is not well between demon-magnet Bella and Edward Cullen, her vampire Romeo. An innocent papercut at Edward's house puts Bella in grave danger when various members of the Cullen family can barely resist their hunger at the smell of blood. The Cullens promptly leave town, afraid of endangering Edward's beloved, and Bella sinks into an overwhelming depression. Months later, she finally emerges from her funk to rebuild her life, focusing on her friendship with besotted teen Jacob from the reservation. Bella's unhealthy enthrallment to Edward leads her into dangerous and self-destructive behavior despite her new friends, and supernatural complications are bound to reappear. Bella's being hunted by an evil vampire, and Jacob's adolescent male rage turns out to be incipient lycanthropy: It seems many Quileute Indians become werewolves in the presence of vampires, their natural enemies. Psychic miscommunications and angst-ridden dramatic gestures lead to an exciting page-turner of a conclusion drenched in the best of Gothic romantic excess. Despite Bella's flat and obsessive personality, this tale of tortured demon lovers entices.

Stephanie Meyer's teen-vampire romance offers an appealing heroine in Bella, transplanted from sunny Phoenix to the wet, dreary town of Forks, Washington, and the seductive, secretive object of her obsession, Edward, who may or may not be a vampire. When Bella moves to rainy Forks, Washington, to live with her father, she just wants to fit in without drawing any attention. Unfortunately, she's drawn the eye of aloof, gorgeous and wealthy classmate Edward. His behavior toward Bella wavers wildly between apparent distaste and seductive flirtation. Bella learns Edward's appalling (and appealing) secret: He and his family are vampires. Though Edward nobly warns Bella away, she ignores the human boys who court her and chooses her vampiric suitor. An all-vampire baseball game in a late-night thunderstorm-an amusing gothic take on American family togetherness that balances some of the tale's romantic excesses-draws Bella and her loved ones into terrible danger. This is far from perfect: Edward's portrayal as monstrous tragic hero is overly Byronic, and Bella's appeal is based on magic rather than character. Nonetheless, the portrayal of dangerous lovers hits the spot; fans of dark romance will find it hard to resist.

Arm Exercises For Strength And Size

Any good weightlifting routine or workout will always target specific areas of the body and specific muscle groups. No weightlifting routine is complete without exercises that help train and develop the arms. Arm exercises are essential for a healthy, balanced-looking body.

Some of the more commonly used arm exercises include biceps curls (done with both barbells and dumbbells), reverse curls, push-ups, pull-ups, and dips. As with any exercise routine, a workout that consists of several of these exercises, completed in 2-3 sets with 10-15 repetitions is usually the preferred approach.

Curls

Whether done using dumbbells or barbells, curls represent one of the most common, popular, and effective arm exercises ever "invented". Perfect for developing and training the biceps, curls can be done from a variety of positions and angles. A traditional curl is done from either a standing or sitting position, with dumbbells of weights that can be lifted while maintaining proper form.

With a dumbbell in each hand, and the arms at the sides, slowly bring the weights to the level of the chest. Hold the weights for at least two seconds before slowly lowering them to their starting position. A typical curl routine involves 2-3 sets of 10-15 repetitions for each set.

Reverse Curls

This exercise features the same movement that is used during traditional curls. The only difference is in the starting position. With a traditional curl, the individual begins the lift with the knuckles facing the body and the palms out.

In the reverse curl arm exercise, the individual begins the lift with the knuckles facing away from the body. This is an excellent exercise used for the development of the forearms.

Pull-Ups

To develop the muscles of the back, as well as the biceps and the deltoids, there is the ever-so-popular pull up. Pull up can be done using either a traditional pull up bat or an assisted pull up machine.

With the palms up and facing out, grip the pull up bar and line up the shoulders with the wrists. With the body hanging down in a straight line, bend the elbows and raise the body until it returns to the original position with the shoulders even with the wrists. In this exercise, individuals should look for 1-2 sets of 10-15 repetitions per set.

Dips

Another one of the more effective upper body exercises, dips are designed to train and develop the deltoids and the triceps. This particular exercise can be done on everything from a bench to a step.

Take the hands and place them on the edge of a sturdy and solid bench (or other raised object). Point the fingers out, move the feet away from the body, and lift your butt off of the bench.

At this point, the individual should be supporting his or her weight with the help of the feet and the hands. This exercise is done using the body's own weight, so no special equipment is needed. Using a slow, controlled motion, lower the body straight down until the butt almost touches the ground, bending only at the elbows.

The difficulty of the exercise can be changed by either straightening out the legs which makes the exercise more difficult, or by keeping the knees bent which makes the exercise easier to perform.

A Perfect Guide to Search Engine Marketing

Search engine marketing is one of the ways that websites have of promoting their site in the search engines. The use of search engine optimization which is basically the process of generating traffic to a website using keywords is the way many people get results. The higher on the search engine results page (SERPs) you are, the better chance of getting plenty of traffic to your website.

The key is to know how to use the keywords that you choose for your website. If you use it too many times, this is considered keyword stuffing and might get you booted right off the search engines. This actually does more harm than good. This is one of the reasons why some websites suddenly vanish from the results page.

During the 1990s when the Internet began to catch on and more people were using it as a place to find sites for what they wanted, search engines began. The purpose was to help when someone was looking for something in particular. The search engine marketing has been the start for many businesses and will continue to be.

Another form of search engine marketing is paid placement which in essence is pay per click. This is when an advertiser pays when someone clicks to their site. The keyword is used to search for sites. If your keywords are the right ones, you will get a lot of traffic when using this form of search engine marketing.

When a search engine charges fees for including your website in their search, this may generate the traffic you need. Most search engines have this method. This works well and experts will agree that these methods are one of the best options, if done properly.

When it comes to your website there are many methods of getting traffic to your site within a few days rather than waiting for several months for the business to be viable. Search engine marketing can be the solution for your website when you are first starting out or if you have an existing website.

The actual term search engine marketing was first introduced and used by Danny Sullivan, the editor-in-chief of Search Engine Land. In 2001 he used the phrase to cover the work performed in search engine optimization. When developing the strategies used by businesses and organizations as well as individuals to market their product or service online, the term began to be used and has been since.

Search engine marketing is now the way of the web when it comes to promoting your business or product for the public. The websites of these businesses are most interested in getting their site in the search engine result pages. If it were not for this service, many businesses would be unable to remain in the rankings to keep afloat. Although it has been referred to as the practice of buying paid search listings one thing is certain, if this was not the reliable method that it is, there would be fewer people that make their living via the world wide web.

Critical Analysis of Cyber Law

Till year 2000, India did not have any legislation governing cyber space or Information Technology Law. To give consideration to the Model Law on Electronic Commerce adopted by the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) and to give legal recognition to electronic commerce the Information Technology Act, 2000 was enacted. Though this is comparatively a new legislation as far as others areas of law are concerned, still 8 years have passed since this act was enacted and in these 8 years Technology has changed at a much faster pace. Though law cannot possibly be expected to keep pace with changes in technology, still there are few areas in the current cyber laws which need some attention.

Spamming

Spam may be defined as Unsolicited Bulk E-mail. Initially it was viewed as a mere nuisance but now it is posing major economic problems. I think almost all of us receive many unwanted mails daily. Though there are some technical methods to deal with spam, they are not very effective and adequate in dealing with this menace. In the absence of any adequate technical protection, stringent legislation is required to deal with the problem of spam. The Information Technology Act does not discuss the issue of spamming at all. USA and the European Union have enacted anti spam legislation. In fact Australia has very stringent spam laws under which the spammers may be fined up to 1.1 million dollars per day.

Pornography

Though the Information Technology Act talks about publishing of information which is “obscene” in nature, it doesn’t specifically define what is obscene and what may be classified as pornography. Even the punishment for pornography is not sufficient in India. In China the punishment for maintaining pornographic website is life imprisonment but by the proposed amendment in IT Act the imprisonment is being reduced to two years from the present five year imprisonment. Also the intermediaries are exempted from any liability. Though legislations worldwide contain severe provisions for child pornography there is no mention of child pornography in the Indian Act. It is interesting to note down that the Information Technology Act prohibits publishing of pornography but viewing of pornography is not an offence under the act.

Phishing

According to Wikipedia, phishing is the criminally fraudulent process of attempting to acquire sensitive information such as usernames, passwords and credit card details, by masquerading as a trustworthy entity in an electronic communication. Phishing is typically carried out by e-mail and often directs users to enter personal and financial details at a website. Phishing is an example of social engineering technique used to fool users. There is no law against phishing in the Information Technology Act though the Indian Penal Code talks about cheating, it is not sufficient to check the activity of phishing. Recently a phishing attack was noticed on the customers of State Bank of India in which a clone of the SBI website was used. What is worse is that even SBI has not alerted its customers. So the need of the hour is a legislation which prohibits the activity of phishing in India.

Data Protection in Internet Banking

Data protection laws primarily aim to safeguard the interest of the individual whose data is handled and processed by others. Internet Banking involves not just the banks and their customers, but numerous third parties too. Information held by banks about their customers, their transactions etc. changes hand several times. It is impossible for the banks to retain information within their own computer networks. High risks are involved in preventing leakage or tampering of data which ask for adequate legal and technical protection. India has no law on data protection leave alone a law governing an area as specific as protection of data in electronic banking.

The Information Technology Act talks about unauthorized access but it does not talk about maintaining integrity of customer transactions. The act does not lay down any duty upon banks to protect the details of customers and clients. U.K has a data protection law which was enacted 10 years back that is in 1998 under which banks or any person holding sensitive information may be held liable for damages if it fails to maintain adequate security protection in respect of data. In India, a bank’s liability would arise out of contract as there is no statute on the point.

Privacy Protection

Privacy and data protection are important issues that need to be addressed today as information technology assumes greater importance in personal, professional and commercial spheres. The European Union and the United States have strict policies relating to privacy and protection of personal data when such data or information is being transferred out of their domain.

It also pertinent to note here, that the absence of a specific privacy law in India has resulted in a loss of substantial foreign investment and other business opportunities. This deficiency has also served as an obstacle to the real growth of electronic commerce. Thus, a statute addressing various issues related to privacy is of utmost importance today, if not an entire act can be brought into force, then at least specific provisions relating to privacy and data protection be incorporated into the Act.

Conclusion

These were some of the most important shortcomings of the Information Technology Act, 2000. Though an amendment was proposed in the Act in 2005, the bill has still not been passed and moreover the bill also fails to address these issues and shortcomings. It seems quite evident that by the time the bill is passed, it would have become obsolete and ineffective.

What is Cybercrime?

It's complicated. Cybercrime cannot be described by any one word. Just like crime as we know it, cybercrime has many different applications and can occur anytime and anyplace. Identity thieves and other criminals use several different methods, depending on how much they know and what their objective is. Cybercrime is 'crime' involving some sort of a 'computer' or 'cyber' factor.

The Council of Europe's Cybercrime Treaty uses the term 'cybercrime' to identify offenses ranging from criminal activity against data to content and copyright infringement [Krone, 2005]. Others [Zevar-Geese, 1997-98] have stated that the definition is not that confined and include fraud, unauthorized access, child pornography, and cyberstalking. The United Nations have authored the Manual on the Prevention and Control of Computer Related Crime and they include fraud, forgery, and unauthorized access [United Nations, 1995]. Obviously cybercrime comes in many different packages and different types of cybercrime are going to require different defences if your computer is going to be safe.

Internet security software giant Symantec draws from the various definitions of cybercrime and define it as 'any crime that is committed using a computer or network, or hardware device'. Symantec says that 'the computer or device may be the agent of the crime, the facilitator of the crime, or the target of the crime'. The cybercrime may occur just on the computer or in addition to other places. To help us understand this complex group of crimes, Symantec has divided it into two categories and they are Type I and Type II cybercrime

Type I cybercrime contains the following properties:

Typically it is a single event (in the mind of the victim). An example would be when a victim downloads a Trojan horse, without knowing it, and then the horse installs a keystroke logger into his or her machine. Or the victim could receive an e-mail that carries a link to a supposed known entity, but instead it is a link to a hostile website. Type I cybercrime is often enabled by crimeware programs like keystroke loggers, viruses, rootkits or Trojan horses. Software flaws or vulnerabilities will usually provide the anchor that the identity thief/criminal is looking for. An example would be a group of criminals having control of a website and then taking advantage of a vulnerability in a Web browser that would allow them to place a Trojan horse on an un-suspecting persons computer. Type I examples include but are not limited to phishing, theft or manipulation of data services by way of hacking or viruses, identity theft, and bank or e-commerce fraud.

Type II cybercrime includes, but is not limited to cyberstalking and harassment, child predation, extortion, blackmail, stock market manipulation, complex corporate spying and planning/carrying out terrorism. The properties of Type II cybercrime are a set of circumstances etc. that are an on-going series of events where there are repeated interactions with the target. One example is a target being contacted on a social networking site or chat room and because of the calculated time and effort of the criminal, a relationship is formed. Inevitably the target is exploited in a criminal manner. Another example is a group of identity thieves, terrorists or other criminals using hidden messages to communicate in a public forum to plan activities or discuss money laundering locations. Type II cybercrime is usually enabled by programs that are not classified as crimeware where conversations may take place using IM (instant messaging) or files may be shared using FTP.

Basic Nutrition Fact Guide are Helpfull

Nutrition Facts: Vegetarianism or Meat? Inhabitants of human cultures have traditionally valued meat as the desideratum of healthy nutrition. They have essentially remained meat eaters for centuries since they thought that absence of meat in meal could cause deficiency of nutrients. Now we know this view as wrong and unscientific. All the essential dietary elements are found in vegetarian foods. Nutrition facts reveal that vegetarian diet is much healthier than meat-centered food.

Types of Nutrients Besides the five main types of nutrients (carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, and minerals) we need fiber and water. Carbohydrates, proteins, fats are called macro- nutrients (they together meet the bulk of our body's nutritional needs) while vitamins and minerals are micronutrients (being required in less amount).

Carbohydrates Most of the carbohydrates, the primary nutritional need, come from plant sources. There are three main types of carbohydrates: simple, complex, and dietary fiber. Simple carbohydrates (or simple sugars) are found in common table sugar, milk, and fruits. Refined sugars provide energy but are deficient in fiber. They also cause dental decay more than other carbohydrates. Complex carbohydrates (or starches) are found in potatoes, bread, rice, pasta, oats, millet etc. Dietary fiber is provided by unrefined food sources like wholemeal bread and brown rice.

Protein By standards of modern nutrition facts, women on average need 45 g of protein daily while men require 55 g for normal health. It should be remembered that excess intake of proteins can degenerate health. Plant sources of proteins include nuts, pulses, edible seeds, cereals, Soya products, eggs, and dairy products. One thing to bear in mind is maintaining variety in the sources of protein i.e. do not try to get all the protein required from a single source. This is because there are 20 different types of amino acids (constituents of protein), all of which need to be taken. So mixing food sources ensures adequate supply of all of them.

Fats While fats (including edible oils) are a major energy source, nutrition facts reveal their excess intake as very harmful to health. Saturated fats (hydrogenated oil, ghee etc.) are more harmful as they raise the blood cholesterol level that can lead to heart disease. Unsaturated fats like olive oil or peanut oil etc. are more useful to cook food items.

Vitamins The importance of vitamins has been dealt with in countless publications about nutrition facts. These are of several types and each type is needed in just a small quantity. Still they are of immense value for optimum health. Types of vitamins have been named after alphabets i.e. vitamin A, B, C, D, E, and K. Vitamins mostly come from green leafy vegetables and fruits.

Minerals Minerals like calcium, zinc, iron, and iodine are important by nutrition facts, as we know them, for normal functioning of different body parts as well as immunity against diseases. Minerals come from both animal and plant sources, dominantly from the latter.

Blogging can be a fun way to cure emotional cold and hurt. Writing expresses our true selves and releases stress. Sometimes, writing can be just the pill we need to escape our hurt and pain the fun way! In attempting to write one must keep certain parameters in mind:

a] Blogging can be done by anyone with a penchant for writing. Personal experiences and inspirations come from varied moments. Noting them and expressing them as best as one can in their own true style is essential.

b] Do not be deterred by childhood experience that has sabotaged your dream of becoming a writer. You can still realize your dreams of writing. As you move on in life you meet new mentors and come across a varied series of ideas that can rekindle your motives.

c] It is true that nature is your biggest inspiration. Small retreats into nature, hikes and long walks will obviously get your mind back in focus from your daily chores and help you come back to your writing. Holidays alone are really helpful to get back your thinking in tune.

d] In accordance to what you wish from life often long-time emotional scars or set-backs will have stopped you from doing what you want. A self-exploration through writing will not only prove to be free therapist but your story will also inspire others and give them motivation. When you share a positive writing you circulate and radiate your optimism and well-being which are all the more reasons to keep your readers inspired

e] Your honest expressions are yours to keep, so emulating anyone else will only slacken your own panache. Don’t let the temptation to emulate something which you think better cramp your style. What you do best is you!

f] A word for public display of your writing: maintain anonymity where you smell a possible controversy and remember that if you write out of spite, it so very much pushes you back in your self-growth. After all time is moving ahead and not heading backwards. Heal yourself through the power of writing but don’t try to change anything that is not under your control!

When we're talking about related fields and interests we are generally very committed. So find things that you are madly interested on. This way the inclination to learn and know from others will rise and so will your participation. Soon enough you will be able to create your own niche .A healthy community feeling creates formation of a genuine bond and develops fellow-feeling greater than you might expect. But this needs a bit of time and regular online involvement.

Express yourself in very honest ways and you will have a very active network of online buddies with whom you can discuss your related interests. Go ahead – make your day, punk!

Why Ohh Why Do People Give Up on Their Blogs

The latest trend in the online business world is to create and produce your own blog that displays content and attracts large amounts of people. Blogs have become very popular over the last few years and millions of them have been created on the Internet by ordinary people with little to no experience of designing web pages. They are very easy to design and somewhat simple to regulate as a part time business. Over the years, blog sites have become a major source of income for many people and have turned into a very profitable business. They attract large amounts of Internet visitors who come to learn about certain themes and issues.

As time goes on, however, many blog site owners face great difficulties that can cause deep frustration to set in. As this frustration continues to sink in, blog owners soon decide to give up on their blogs and simply leave them as a dead site on the Internet. There are many reasons why people give up on their blogs, some which are less honorable than others. This particular article will discuss some of the reasons why people stop caring about their blog sites. Decline Of Visitors Sometimes blog owners will have quick success and see a lot of Internet traffic coming to their blog site, which will make them very excited. This initial traffic flow, however, might eventually slow down and become stagnant. This decrease in a site's traffic flow can be a very frustrating thing for blog owners, and can even cause them to give up on their blogs.

Multiple Blogs There are some people who create multiple blog sites at the same time, which cause them to become very overwhelmed with all of the work that needs to be done. With so many blog sites to keep track of, many bloggers soon lose control of all of them and abandon the ones that are the most complex. In order to be truly successful, a blog owner should concentrate on one single blog in order to become too stressed. Lack Of Immediate Success Another reason why blog owners give up on their blogs is because they do not see immediate and quick success.

They have a lot of excitement built up during the blog creation process, but that soon declines as time goes on and they do not experience a quick profit or large traffic flow. With the lack of immediate success, blog owners sometimes become very impatient and give up the task of regulating their blog sites. Lose Interest There are many instances when people simply lose their interest in blogging altogether and do not want to have anything to do with blog sites anymore. They have often started the blog with a simple interest and curiosity of how the whole process works, but then lose interest in it and begin to focus their attention on something more exciting. They may sometimes even lose interest in the specific topic that they originally chose for their blog site.

Author: Dharmender Kumar

You have decided to align yourself with the group constituted by zillions who have already reached, tested, tried and ….still trying hard to make a mark in the webscape.

Welcome you to internet.
As I am sure you already know blogging is huge right now. If you don’t know what blogging is then you have obviously not spent a lot of time online in the past few years. Blogging is one of the most popular ways of sharing information online and building websites for just about any topic. Where people used to build simple websites, they are now starting blogs. They are also a great way to start an online home business. People have blogs for pretty much every subject under the sun. There are blogs about entertainment, science, politics, parenting, sports, animals, and lots of blogs about how to make money online!

One of the big reasons for starting blogs is their ease of use and the fact that they can be a great way to make money online if you are willing to devote the time and energy required to keep the blog going. There is more to blogging than simply putting up some basic information or a picture and then throwing up some Adsense code around it.

There are plenty of ways you can use blogging to make money online and here are some of the most popular:

Paid Advertising

There are plenty of advertising programs on the internet that are blog-friendly and depending on the popularity of your blog, you can generate anywhere from a few dollars every month to a few thousand dollars a day! Adsense is a very popular way to make money from putting advertising on a blog.

However, if Adsense isn’t your thing there are plenty of alternatives. There are quite a few good revenue share advertising programs that will sell ads for you and give a percentage of the profits. You could also look into selling advertising independently. If you have some marketing and networking experience and know how to edit your templates then selling advertising yourself is a great way to make money online and you get to keep 100% of the profits!

Affiliate Marketing

A blog is a great way to showcase affiliate links, particularly if your blog is about a specific niche. In fact, if you are a “niche blogger” affiliate links can generate more income for you than you can make with advertising. There are tons of affiliate programs out there. Just be careful not to overload your blog with affiliate links. A blog with more affiliate links than useful and original content is a total turn off and will not make you nearly as much money!

Media

For most bloggers this will never happened but there are some bloggers who make such a big name for themselves that they become a famous in the media. It takes a long time to get to this point (if you can ever do it at all), but it’s possible. For example; look at someone like Perez Hilton. He has managed to make a name for himself outside of the blogosphere and is now rich and famous due to his blogging efforts. In order to achieve this though you have to be very patient, very dedicated to your blog and stand out from every other blogger competing with you.

As you can see, there are plenty of ways that you can use blogging to build an online income or even propel yourself to celebrity status. Above I have listed just a few ways that you could use blogging make money online. This is not an all-inclusive list by any means, there are many more ways to make money with a blog so get out there and start blogging your little heart out!

Of all the people that have big dream of making a great living on the Internet there are more then half that will end up failing before the first month is over. So what is the difference between the people that are failing and the people that are making a huge amount of money working on the Internet? Blogging has become a hugely popular way for people to make money online. However there are many who are becoming frustrated because they are not making the kind of money that they hoped they would by running a blog. So what are some reasons as to why someone would fail in blogging? You are unhappy with what you are doing. You can fail with running a blog if you are not happy with what you are doing.

You will not be productive and will likely end up making excuses to avoid working on your blog altogether if it is not something that you are completely passionate about doing. The wrong attitude is a certain sign of a business that will fail. You have the wrong priorities. You can spend and entire day feeling that you have worked your butt off to improve your business and be completely worn out by the end of the day. The bad part is that when you sit back to think about you really did not do anything that was truly productive. You need to have a very clear idea as to what are the top priority tasks that you need to complete concerning your blog each and every day. You also need to be able to determine the tasks that can be set aside for later so that you can be truly productive. You can easily become distracted. If you are sitting at your computer trying to get some work done and it seems like you are always getting called away to take care of something else then you are going to have a really hard time making your blog a success.

You need to focus on small tasks that will make your productivity level increase. For instance you could take the telephone away from your work area while you are working or work on writing your blog posts and then take care of promoting your blog. By setting yourself up with a schedule that you can keep you will be able to limit your distractions during the day. You do not want to learn from your mistakes. If you are doing something like wasting time and you do not seem to see any problem with that then you are definitely going to fail in blogging. You need to be able recognize your mistakes and be able to make positive changes to correct them otherwise you are doomed to be repeating your mistakes over and over again. If you can avoid making these mistakes when you are working on making your blog a success then you are going to be well on your way to creating a great online income for yourself.

In order to keep your desire to blog at a high level, you must also reset some new objectives that are much higher and that will push you to be better and even bigger than ever before.
Blogs are becoming ever more popular on the internet, and although you may not actually realize it but you could find yourself making money from them. There has been some things written about ways of making money through blogging, but not many. However, since the publication of WordPress Goldmine this has greatly changed and below we look at how this could help you to make money through your blog.

But first let us explain a little bit about blogs. A blog is in fact a weblog, which is a way for people to now express their own individual's thoughts on a certain subject matter or may even be about themselves. Each blog is made up of just one web page and entries will then be posted to it on a regular basis starting with the most recent addition at the beginning.

Many people now have their own blogs on the internet, covering a wide variety of subjects but some still have not actually realized that they can make money from theirs. There are several ways in which money can be made from a blog and in WordPress Goldmine you will find just some of the ways that are available. But in order for you to be able to do this you first need to decide just what subject that your blog is going to be about.

Ideally what you are aiming to do with your blog is gain the trust of those people who come to read it. Certainly, once you have been able to gain these people's trust then in all likelihood they are much more likely to try any of the products that you are recommending to them.

When it comes to producing good quality blogs this is where WordPress shines. Yes there are various different types of blogging platforms available for you to use, but WordPress is the easiest of them all to use and understand. Although, it must be said that Blogger follows a very close second behind it. But the author of WordPress Goldmine as the name suggested has used the one that is rated first of all blogging platforms.

When it comes to setting up a blog using WordPress you will find that whole process very simple and easy to complete. But first you must register with the site and once this is done then you can start building your first ever blog with them. Actually building the blogs will cost you nothing and will only take a few minutes for you to complete and then all you need to do is start adding more information to it once it is up and running.

It is vital that what you post to your blog is not only relevant information but that which your readers will find useful. Through WordPress Goldmine the author explains exactly how to find the right kinds of blog posts that you should be making for yours, and it does not even matter if you have no real knowledge regarding the subject that you have selected for your blog.

The WordPress Goldmine e-book explains completely the steps that one should be taking in order that a person can actually start to profit from any blogs that they have. It helps you to avoid those mistakes which many novices new to blogging make and which end up wasting them time and losing them money. Through this e-book you will learn about how to set up your blog correctly, choosing the right subject matter and the right products that you should recommend to your visitors.

Author: Varun Kumar

How Can I Choose the Best Domain Name Before I Register

Okay, so you think you’ve settled on a domain name. You may even have broken out your old Scrabble set so you have a bunch of tiles to manipulate while you figure out what looks and sounds right. You’ve considered what associations the domain name brings to mind, and you’re all ready to buy it. So it’s time to make the purchase, right?

Not so fast. You might want to try searching for your prospective domain name in Google. It’s not to see whether someone else already has the domain name, or something similar, though you may have already checked that by this time. You need to see how Google treats your domain name. If you’re using more than one word, put both the phrase and the single word versions into Google. With an earlier example I gave, the site owner would have put “therapist finder” and “therapist finder” into Google, without quotes.

Does Google consider your domain name to be a typo? If it does, you could be in trouble before you get your business off the ground. If a visitor puts your domain name in Google (and many people will do this) they may get confused when they see Google’s “Did you mean?” typo message. So you just might lose that visitor. Here’s a point to keep in mind, though: once your site makes it into Google’s index and starts getting external links, Google may no longer consider it a typo. I’ve read information online from site owners who have had both experiences.

Does Google turn up a lot of sites that are much better branded than yours is likely to be? Look at the top results when you put your domain name into Google. SEO Smarty uses the example of “tourwiki.com.” Put “tour wiki” without quotes into Google, and the top site is Wikipedia. That’s not a site that a business just starting out will be able to beat in the SERPs easily. None of these tasks will take very long, but they’ll go a long way toward giving you peace of mind. They should also help you create a memorable domain name that will stick in visitors’ minds and help them return to your site again and again.

I’ve already mentioned that you should parse your domain name several ways to see whether it has any bad associations. You should also check such things as the Urban Dictionary online, or ask Google to define the word, or even do a search on eBay. SEO Smarty notes that “lex” means Rolex in street slang – an association I personally never would have made. (Words are my living and my passion; to me, it’s obvious that “lex” is short for “lexicon”!).

Finally, you may want to consider registering both the singular and plural versions of your domain name, just to be on the safe side. You don’t want traffic that is trying to reach you to go somewhere else – especially if that somewhere else is a competitor’s site.
None of these tasks will take very long, but they’ll go a long way toward giving you peace of mind. They should also help you create a memorable domain name that will stick in visitors’ minds and help them return to your site again and again.

Author: Kamal Kaushal

Using RSS and Blog Submissions for Blog Promotions

It happens to everyone at some point in time. You have a great idea for a blog, on a new niche topic. You create the blog; you post interesting and creative posts to it each day, and then nothing.

You post your brilliant and original thoughts for everyone online to read, but no one is coming around to read your blog. And, because no one can find your blog to read it, you are not generating any links or improvement in your search engine rankings either. What is a blogger to do?

Promoting your blog is essential to its success. You need to promote your blog so that you become recognized as an expert in your chosen niche and can monetize your blog. However, you also want to promote your blog to increase the traffic to your site, reach a new reading audience, and most importantly to create as many inbound links as possible. Creating inbound links ensures that your website rankings and search engine optimization efforts pay off for you in the biggest ways possible.

You want to promote your blog to as many people in your niche market as you possibly can. And, you want to do it as often as you possibly can. Some people believe that the best way to promote a blog is through comments on other popular blogs with a link to your own blog, comments on UseNet or other Internet message boards or forums, posting press releases and articles, etc.. However, the easiest and most time efficient way to promote your blog is through RSS feed and blog submissions to directories hands down.

The issue with using a manual feed submitter, or using an individual RSS submitter, is that it is very time consuming to deal with on a consistent basis. Most bloggers want to write their posts and be done with their work for the day. They do not want to spend a half-hour writing a post and then three more hours trying to submit their RSS feed and content to directories in hopes of bringing in some readers and sneaking up their search engine rankings.

The good news is that today programmers have developed some great semi-automatic RSS feed submit tools which you can now choose from to help submit your RSS feed and blog to directories without it being so time consuming. Feed submitter software programs allow you to simultaneously submit your blog and RSS feeds to literally thousands of directories, and to do it all with only a couple quick clicks of your mouse.

Setting up the RSS feed submission software is simple to do and the submission process takes very little time to complete. Using RSS feed submitters is much easier and quicker than attempting manual RSS submits.

If you are a blogger interested in publishing RSS feeds, XML feeds, and getting your feed out into the RSS databases of the world, I would highly suggest that you check out some of the amazing new RSS software tools available to you today on the market. Choose a tool that is easy to use and one which will allow you to reach the maximum amount of directories possible for the least amount of work.

Writing your blog posts should be the hardest part of blogging, not trying to get noticed and dealing with SEO.
Blogging can be a way of life and has become a good source of income for those that have learned to use this medium of communication to their advantage. There are of course a lot of things to consider when you start your blog. Especially if you are striving to create a blog that will generate some sort of income for you.

One of the first things you will want to consider is what type of blogging platform you will want to use. Two of biggest hitters on the blogging block of course are Blogger and Wordpress. Both of which have their advantages but if you are really serious look into a stand alone program, meaning one that you can host and have control over it yourself.

The next thing you will want to do after you decide your blogging platform is writing your content and learning a writing style that works for you. Original content is king and the search engines can sniff the difference between original and not so original from a gigabyte away. So if you take any tips away from this article take that one. Make your stuff original it will carry your blog a long way to succeeding.

Some other things to consider when planning out your blog is the layout of the page and the format your html coding will be. This can become quite daunting to most as the different internet langauages can pile up quickly. From html to css to java, there is alot that goes on behind the scenes of those websites and blogs out there. It's those people that take the time to learn some of the basics of all those languages that can really push their blogs to the next level of success with some certainty. A good place to start for that would be W3.org.

There is another alternative if you don't want to deal with all that blogging stuff. Either you have not the time or the willingness to learn all that goes into running a successful blog. Blogging Networks are starting to gain popularity in the blogosphere. The good ones have done all the hardwork for you, tending to the layouts, templates, linking schemes and compliant coding to make the whole blog network run super smooth. All you have to do is post your content with your links embedded in your blog posts and presto! You are driving traffic, links and page rankings up up up. The sky is the limit when it comes to blogging.

Things to Know Before Starting a Blog

Starting a new blog might seem like a very simple idea. After all, anyone with a little determination and basic internet experience can establish and manage a blog. There are dozens of websites all dedicated to promoting free blogging platforms but when many of these businesses are trying to encourage new users to sign up they rarely tell you any of the downsides.

Establishing a blog is more than just answering a few questions on a sign up forms and starting write. Setting up a blog is establishing an extremely personalized web presence that requires some patience and knowledge of using FTP. If you are someone that is interested in trying out Wordpress this free blogging platform can be installed on your own domain. Wordpress boasts that all users can install the platform in five minutes but this is not always the case.

While many new hosting companies offer "one-click" install options that really will install the blogging platform in five minutes not all users have web hosts that offer this perk. Many new users will have to manually install all of the php files needed to run Wordpress. This can be a challenge to anyone that is not used to installing programs. Before tackling a manual installation talk to someone from your web hosting company to double check that they do not offer a one-click install. You do not want to labor for hours only to discover the one click install option after you have done all of the grunt work.

Once you have installed Wordpress you must take the time to pick out a good theme. Your theme is going to give all users their very first impression of your new weblog. Having a very plain theme or overly busy theme can create the incorrect impression of your blog. Also, when you are choosing a theme you must think of more than just aesthetics. After you have gotten used to dealing with one sort of theme it might be very hard to switch over to a different theme style.

When starting your blog keep in mind that not all search engine optimization tools can be used with blogging platforms. Many traffic analysis services will not work well with weblogs that are hosted on free sites or are on platforms like blogger. There are search engine optimization tools that have been made specifically for Wordpress and other blogging platforms but these tools usually only work with blogs that are hosted on their own domains with premium web hosts.

Do not let these things discourage you and keep you from becoming a successful blogger. It is extremely likely that you will be able to set up your own profitable blog but keep in mind that you will have to invest time and effort in order to properly promote your blog to the right audience. Developers are constantly creating more tools to help bloggers make their blogs search engine friendly so that your blog audience can be increased.

Author: Meka McSpadden

Utilize Courtesy Within Your Blogging Niche

A great way to get back links to your blog is by leaving comments on other blogs within your blogging niche. This fun, simple, and free method of traffic however does come with a set of 'unwritten' rules within the blogging community. Remember when visiting someone else's blog you're entering into a 'conversation' and many times you may have not been invited. Common courtesy should always be practiced in this environment.

Remember you are visiting for reasons such as learning or possibly as a favor to the host blogger. Your participation although likely welcomed, must always be in a positive manner such as knowledgeable or constructive answers, comments, or suggestions. Never use this venue to criticize, ridicule, or condemn those 'unfortunates' who may not share your viewpoints. Likewise any 'scalding reviews' of a novice blogger for his or her lack of apparent experience as it may show up in the structure or appearance of their blog. Liken this experience to an office party where maintaining a politically correct posture is always the most prudent approach. As a blogger this will not only help you make friends and possibly gain readers, but also prevent you from committing 'blogging suicide.'

As mother always told us, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all! Within the blogging community unless you're the 'only' authority within your field it's not a good idea to antagonize others. Readers will ALWAYS have other sources to find material that's interesting to them.

Concerning any blog comments you leave (along with the link back to your blog, of course) be sure the comment(s) are warranted. By this I mean don't just comment for the sake of commenting so you can leave your link. Trust me; this will be identified quickly thereby making you unwelcomed in the future. One thing you don't want is to gain the reputation of a 'blog spammer' since all your future comments may be banned even if they are constructive to the structure of the conversation.

Speaking to the 'quality' of your comments be sure that they are always helpful and appropriate. There's neither need nor place for hostility or negativity. Keep your 'tone' civil and level headed. Blogging environments are structured to educate, exchange ideas and thoughts, coaching, and other means of support. Save the fighting for the 'back alleys' if you must!

Lastly never 'steal' content from another site and represent it as your own. You may however use this content as long as credit is clearly given to the original source.

Always be polite and choose your words correctly when leaving blog comments. These are words documented making it difficult to hide or deny after the fact. They may be words that come back to haunt you. By 'doing unto others' within any blogging niche, you'll open many doors for yourself from which to benefit.

Author: TJ Philpott
